Skulls to paint on by angelacapel Skulls to paint on by angelacapel
Just bought Michael's crafts out of their paper mache skulls! 16 skulls came home with me. I'm also hoping to pick up a few more skull related things I saw there today. They had a ton of those paper mache skull masks, but I didn't get them cause they were a dollar or so more expensive. Maybe they'll go down in price in a week or so like the little coffins did (I bought one of those too). And they also have these plaster skulls for $9.99... but i didn't wanna buy that without a coupon.

:lmao: When I saw the thumbnail, I thought you made these, too! Never mind, it will be fascinating to see what you paint on them!

I did have intentions of making my own paper mache skulls, but since I have these I won't be doing that right away or anything. ;)

I bought all that they had. I may be able to part with a few, but I'm really looking forward to painting most of them myself. I'm worried they won't ship well cause they're not sturdy like the clay ones I make... Have you shipped any of your painted ones? Did it mail alright?

I may consider trading for one of your finished ones... Have to think about it.

Oh, no, nevermind! If that's all they had, you keep them all. :) I haven't shipped them, but I'm sure bubble wrap would be fine if you need to sell one to someone once it's painted.

You know, they had a billion of the skull masks... If you're interested in those I may just end up back at the art store anyway cause I feel I should have gotten some of those...

And I'd trade those for a painted one of yours if you were into that...

Nah, I have about six of them sitting at home that are unpainted. They don't do it for me as much as the skulls do. They're a little more like canvases, I think, than just... skulls. So it seems to take some of the freedom out of it, even though it shouldn't.

Would it be too forward of me to ask how much people are willing to pay for your painted skulls and masks? I'm hoping these will go for a bit more than my tiny skulls sell for...

I'm really pleased that you brought the pre-made skulls to my attention... I'm all pumped to make these now!

People were buying them up like nuts for $15. But I honestly feel like that's underselling myself. Check on Etsy. Look at the folks who have the exact same ones. People who are doing stuff much less intricate than mine are asking more... And some folks are asking $40! Whether or not they sell is another matter, but still.

That's always the way, isn't it? I can't get most people to pay 10 dollars for the little skulls, despite how hard it is to paint on such a small curved surface...

Just checked Etsy and it's on point though... I guess 15 dollars is probably what I'll get out of 'em. Saw the higher priced ones, but really can't imagine that they get many sales for much more than 20!!

Thanks for all of your help!
