Rainbow Ayumi Hamasaki by angelacapel Rainbow Ayumi Hamasaki by angelacapel
I'm quite pleased with this one. I tried a few things here that I haven't done before, or don't usually do. I used the whole paper for once, so some of the image on the left didn't fit in my scanner. I tried to use as much of the paper as humanly possible. I also decided to do a very thin outline here, as I felt that the soft femininity of it deserved fine lines. I also decided that I wanted as much of the page as possible to be full of vibrant colour.

I did this for 's contest, but seriously, I've had this idea running around in my mind before that contest was even sugested. So, I actually did this one for myself (which has become more and more rare for me to do these days, as I draw for family members or for contests more than I ever do for myself!

I'm kind of obsessed with rainbow clothing. I love designing rainbow things for my characters to wear (Heck, I even have a character named Roy G. Biv).

Ayumi Hamasaki is a very famous japanese pop star. I hope others agree that my likeness of her is good!

I love the warm colors and the golden outline ^^
I've been wondering what that symbol meant, lol, I've seen it before randomly.

Thanks. I was rather impressed with my self for actually having the guts to try the golden outline idea. I'd never done that before.

And I believe that the symbol is her own personal one.

Yeah? I've done it a few times before, it has a nice graphic effect, I really like the way it looks ^^

That's cool that she made that up, cool even if she didn't x3

You would look great in it! Maybe you can convince David to draw you in it.

Well, the title sure fits; so much colour! :faint:
Nicely done, you did fill up a lot of the page. =P

Roy G. Biv. Took a few seconds to get it, but it's Red Green Blue, right? :lmao:

Thank you! The design came about because I saw Hitomi Shimatani wear a ruffly white shirt, and i loved how the ruffles looked on her so much that I wanted to create something based on that.

:jawdrop: Your use of color is unmatched, really! And the pose is so (er, I am not familiar with this person, and some Japanese pop stars are very young, so I will say "cute" to remain safe, rather than "sexy"; I don't want to get into trouble! I already posted a comment last night where I misinterpreted the artist's work, and feel really bad about that. Why can't we be given a limit of five comments per month that we can delete if we make real fools of ourselves?). In any event, the clothing is wonderful; did you model it on anything or was it completely original? And....while it great to draw for others and be generous with your talent, you should also draw for yourself more often. You deserve it! :+fav:

Ayu is of age, so you would be safe to say sexy (but you are wize to be cautious, because most of the japanese pop stars are very very young).

I actually got the idea for the ruffles from a white shirt that I had seen Hitomi Shimatani wearing. I liked how the ruffles looked on her and wanted to make them my own by rainbowizing them and changing it to swimwear.

I'm pleased that you enjoyed it! I'm so proud of it!
